Deserving a ranking in Time’s Top 50 sites of 2006, Photomuse acts like an online museum of nostalgic photos.

I personally enjoyed sifting through their exhibitions, all of which have counterparts in actual museums. Some people don’t get a kick out of looking at sepia worn-out photographs, but it’s nice to see images of landmarks from decades back.
I especially found “The Mysterious Monsieur Bellocq” in exhibitions interesting to scan. The page shows about 6 photographs of prostitutes in the 1870’s.
Serious shutterbugs should check out the chronology section, to learn more about the history of their art.
